1. Ultra-Pro Vacuums earn high marks in the Carpet & Rug Institute vacuum rating
system.
CRI combines the indoor air quality protection of it’s Green Label Vacuum Program with enhanced cleaning standards of it’s Seal of Approval
programs must meet higher performance standards and are rewarded with Gold, Silver or Bronze ratings. This program test two general
categories of vacuums:
General-purpose vacuums approved for use on all conventional carpet styles
Vacuums specifically approved for use on carpet with a low pile, or surface texture, measuring approximately a quarter inch or less
To earn a CRI Seal of Approval/Green Label certification, vacuums must pass the following independent laboratory tests:
SOIL REMOVAL
CRI uses NASA-enhanced x-ray fluorescence technology instead of traditional gravimetrix testing to measure the precise amount of soil
removed from the carpet. Either 30 oz/sy commercial cut pile carpet or 30 oz/sy loop pile carpet.
DUST CONTAINMENT
The vacuum must not release more than 100 micrograms of dust particles per cubic meter of air, keeping dirt and dust locked tight in the
vacuum and not escaping back into the air when one can breathe it.
CARPET FIBER RETENTION
The vacuum must not affect the texture of the commercial cut pile carpet (900 passes with sample rotated every 50 passes) more than a
one-step change based on one year of normal vacuum use
2. Incredible features are hard to ignore. While not all features are standard across all models,
many are which makes Ultra-Pro vacuums extremely versatile.
3. Simple maintenance needs - spend less time on clogs and belt repair and more time cleaning and
vacuuming!
The Ultra-Pro line boasts "tool-less belt changes," a clog port enabling you easy access to your
vacuum cleaner's insides, and a flaps instead of screws on the base plate, giving you even more
access to the vacuum's inner workings. See how easy it is to change a belt below:
4. Ultra-Pro vacuums exceed standards set for the Restriction of Hazardous Substances (RoHS)
Any RoHS compliant component is tested for the presence of Lead (Pb), Cadmium (Cd), Mercury
(Hg), Hexavalent chromium (Hex-Cr), Polybrominated biphenyls (PBB), and Polybrominated
diphenyl ethers (PBDE ).
RoHS specifies maximum levels of the above listed 6 in regards to their PPM. PPM means parts mer
million – which is a scientific term referring to the relationship between one chemical and another. It
describes the concentration of a solution to the amount of water it is dissolved in :
Lead (Pb): < 1000 ppm Resin (power cords) < 300 ppm
Lead is commonly used in the electrical and electronics industry in solder, lead-acid batteries,
electronic components, cable sheathing and in the glass of cathode-ray tubes.
Mercury (Hg): < 100 ppm
Mercury is widely used in the production of electrical and electronic appliances and is concentrated
in batteries, switches, thermostats and fluorescent lamps.
Cadmium (Cd): < 100 ppm
Cadmium is used in electronic equipment, car batteries and pigments.
Hexavalent Chromium (Hex-Cr or Cr VI) < 1000 ppm
While some forms of chromium are non-toxis, Chromium VI can produce toxic effets.
Polybrominated Biphenyls (PBB): < 1000 ppm
These are flame retardants found in electronic and electrical appliances. They have been found in
indoor dust and air through evaporation from plastics.
Polybrominated Dipheny Ethers (PBDE): < 1000 ppm
These are also flame retardants found in electronic and electrical appliances. Combustion of
printed wiring boards release toxic emissions.
The most visible of the hazardous issues is lead in the power cord which requires the warning
label. If the content is less than the RoHS limit of 300 ppm, the label is not needed. Ultra-Pro’s limit
is 33% to 66% lower than the RoHS so the machines do not have labels, indicating they are
compliant.
To read more about the RoHS Compliance and to read a FAQ section, you may visit the website

The RoHS directive aims to restrict certain dangerous substances commonly used in
electronic and electronic equipment, and in the instances of the Ultra-Pro Vacuums, is
in reference to the power cables being compliant.
